Two Managers of the hotel, venue used for the wedding of gay couple that was disrupted by the Police in Delta State are presently remanded in prison custody.
Although the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Bright Edafe a deputy Superintendent of Police didn’t respond to The Town Hall Media enquiry for update, a reliable source said the two Managers of the hotel where the incident took place were arrested alongside the 67 others arrested earlier reported by the press made up of boys and girls witnessing the gay wedding ceremony.
They were hurriedly arraigned before a court in Warri which gave an order for their remand in Correctional facility (prison) for two weeks on a holding charge.
Our Reporter further gathered that the two weeks remand will expire on the 18th of this month of September, when prosecution is expected to file a formal charge against them.
Amorous relationships between people of the same sex is prohibited in Nigeria.Any act of defiance attracts a jail term of 14 year in accordance with Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, 2013.
