A retired Deputy Inspector General of Police DIG and a prominent Anambra citizen, Chief Celestine Okoye says he committed no offence or any wrongdoing by carrying an AK-47 rifle while attending a public function in the State.
He explained that the rifle belongs his Police Orderly who escorted him to the event but suddenly took ill and had to leave the venue immediately for possible medical attention.
He said there was nothing wrong with his action and expressed surprise that he was being recorded which went viral.
The retired DIG also criticized the politicization of security issues in Anambra State and recalled how he requested to meet with the Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to discuss the issue about the menacing security situation in the State but was turned down.
