ANGERED by vandalisation of NNPCL/Chevron Oil facility – the Dibi Abiteye Flow Station last weekend, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State is talking tough and has called on security agencies to smoke out the perpetrators for maximum punishment.

This position was made known in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Kingsley Emu on Monday.

The statement said that “the Delta State Government has received the sad news of an act of economic sabotage in the vandalisation of the NNPCL/Chevron Oil facility – the Dibi Abiteye Flow Station in Warri North Local Government Area on Saturday, 23rd November, 2024.

“Government at all levels in collaboration with Security Agencies and Tantita Security Services will fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book.

“Government reassures Chevron Nigeria Limited and other Oil operating Companies of our continuous support and commitment to their successful operations in Delta State. We also solicit the support of host communities in identifying and clamping down on the offenders.

“The State government shall not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons/criminals who are out to sabotage government’s resolve to sustain the current tempo of oil exploration in the state”, the statement added.

Recall that a group which tagged itself the Niger Delta Liberation Movement purportedly claimed responsibility for bursting several pipelines along the Olero-Dibi-Abiteye Fields/Flow stations at about 2am on Friday.

According to a press statement signed by its Secretary one Mr. Emmanuel Tagbanaraewumi, which was made available to Journalists in Warri stated that “We promise a shocker as we vow to continue to hit facilities used for crude oil exploration activities in the whole of Warri areas…”.
