FORMER Secretary to the Delta State government SSG and presently the Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Chief Patrick Ukah has emerged as the new Captain, Ibori Golf and Country Club.
He took over from Jimmy Odogwu.
Chief Ukah was elected at the Club’s 2024 Annual General Meeting held on Sunday after he was nominated by members of the club to pilot their affairs.
In his acceptance speech, Ukah thanked the members for the opportunity given to him to lead the Club promising to take the club to greater heights.
He said the amateur club was established for tourism and recreation meant to attract investors to the State, adding that as Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency he would use the Club as a varitable tool to promote Delta State.

In another development, Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Chief Tonobok Okowa whose tenure will end this month (February) has denied rumours making the rounds that he was anxiously lobbying to retain his job at the Sports Commission.
Okowa, a brother to the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa while reacting to the rumour told The Pond news, it was the handwork of mischief makers and advised the general public to ignore the entire story.
He further said as a matter of fact he has removed his essential belongings from the office.
“For Eight years under my leadership as Chairman of the Commission, Delta State had won the National Sports Festival, All National Youth Games.These also include many national championships in other sports too numerous to mention.
“The new Chairman of the Commission has to continue to maintain the foundation already laid by previous administration”, he stated.
