Thumbs up for Online Publishers in Delta State

By Austin Ogwuda

Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Comrade Felix Ofou has commended members of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, (DOPF) for consistently publishing activities of the Delta State government over the years.

Ofou stated this when the Chairman of the group, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli led a delegation on a courtesy visit. He noted that members of the Forum had consistently been publishing the activities of Government over the years at their own cost, even in the current hard times, assuring that “your partnership would not be taken for granted”.

Ofou also emphasized the importance of online news platforms, describing them as critical stakeholders in the New media space. He pointed out that the DOPF members had used their vast experience and integrity to manage information on Government activities without resorting to yellow journalism as great sacrifice.

The Executive Assistant did not hesitate to urge the Publishers to always liaise with his office whenever there are issues to be clarified before going to press and pledged that they would be carried along by the Oborevwori administration in the scheme of things.

Earlier, Chairman of DOPF, Mr. Enebeli, said the visit was to congratulate Comrade Ofou on his appointment, which he noted would undoubtedly give the New Media in the State a great boost considering his (Ofou) pedigree.

Enebeli commended the Oborevwori administration for the infrastructural development so far initiated, especially that of Warri/Effurun and environs of the State and urged the Governor to act on the Agbor-Umutu,-Obiaruku-Abraka road to make it motorable and boost economic activities in the State as surrounding communities within that axis are notable food baskets of the State.
