… passes vote of no confidence on Information Commissioner

The Taraba State Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journslists NUJ has frowned on the negative posture of the State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas towards members of the Chapel and resolved to boycott all the activities of the State Government.
At an emergency meeting on Tuesday may 20th, 2025 at the Chapel office in Jalingo the State Capital, the Congress condemned in strong terms the refusal of the State Government to Accredit its members for Taraba State Investment Summit TARAVEST in Jalingo and the visit of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to the State both slated for Wednesday May 21st, 2025
Members of the Chapel also passed a vote of no confidence on the State Commissioner for information and Re-orientation Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo for failing to create an enabling environment for harmonious Government/ Media relations.
The Chapel however assured the people of the State of maintaining its Watchdog position by discharging it’s statutory responsibilities to all and sundry without fear or favour.
For sometime now members of the Correspondent’s Chapel are prevented from Covering the functions of the Governor particularly at the Government house, only members of Government house Press Crew and some selected TV Stations are allowed into the EXCO Chambers and in many instances members of the Correspondent’s Chapel are blocked from getting access into the Government house which did not go down well with them.
This may not be unconnected with their reports on the many unfulfilled and false promises of the the Governor, his loans status estimated by analyst to up to N75O billion just within two years of his tenure surpassing any other Governor since the Creation of the State and many other alleged demeaniors.
While in Taraba State, President Bola Tinubu is now billed to recommission the New Market renamed Palliative market by by Governor Kefas in Jalingo, constructed by the first Civilian Governor Jolly Tavoro Nyame, the Danbaba Suntai Airport and the School of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo established and Commissioned by Late Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, the Government House Jalingo constructed by Afolahan the first Military Governor of the State and now christened TY Dajuma house by the Governor and several of such projects which were initiated, completed and Commissioned by previous Governments and non of which was initiated by him but just repainted them and want to take credit as he has not initiated and completed any project since he came to office in 2023.
