SENATE: Ifeanyi Okowa and Ned Nwoko engage in war of words over suitability

By Austin Ogwuda

Loyalists and supporters of the incumbent Senator representing Delta North in the Senate, Senator Ned Nwoko and that of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa have turned the social media platforms into battle ground.

They are busy throwing tantrums at each other, positioning their masters as best and suitably qualified to represent Delta North in the next Senate.

Incidentally, both Okowa and Nwoko are presently in the same political boat – APC, except sometime dramatic occurs before the party primaries later this year. And for the ticket, with the gathering storms and perceived political overtures, who is going to get the ticket.

Although there are other political parties that would be fielding candidates, but Okowa and Nwoko for now remain the cynosure of ALL eyes – the beautiful brides.

Ironically, too, whilst the two camps intensify the shadow boxing drama, a loquacious member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State (names withheld) commented thus:

“Na delegates dey vote for primaries. Elections are not won on social media. If you know, you know, eyendieba eyendieba”.

Meantime, barely 24 hours after Okolobie Anioma loyal to Ned Nwoko tackled Agugu Anioma for endorsing Okowa, Agugu Anioma has countered.

Okowa: The Clear Choice for Delta North Senate in 2027 — Agugu Anioma

As the 2027 elections draw closer, Agugu Anioma notes that Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa stands out as the most capable candidate to represent Delta North in the Senate. His proven leadership record, prior Senate experience, deep understanding of the region, and consistent commitment to the welfare of Deltans clearly distinguish him.

Dr. Okowa is no stranger to the National Assembly. His earlier service in the Senate afforded him a firm grasp of legislative processes, committee work, and effective representation—experience that uniquely positions him to deliver value from day one. Combined with his tenure as governor, this background reflects a leader who understands both policy formulation and execution.

Okowa’s time as governor further demonstrated his capacity to deliver tangible results, from critical infrastructure development to notable improvements in education and healthcare. As the saying goes, “the river does not announce its depth; it is crossed by those who know its strength.” His accomplishments speak clearly for themselves.

Agugu Anioma underscores Senator Okowa’s intimate knowledge of Delta North’s social, economic, and political realities, positioning him to advocate effectively for policies that address genuine community needs. His integrity, strategic insight, and inclusive leadership style further strengthen his suitability for effective representation at the national level.

The movement also observes that the sudden proliferation of numerous online groups announcing frivolous endorsements cannot distort the will of the people. In Anioma parlance, such actions amount to “Ogbu mpe ji”—mere noise without substance. Digital theatrics, Agugu Anioma maintains, cannot override genuine grassroots acceptance or derail the people’s clear choice: Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Dr. Okowa embodies experience, credibility, and a people-centred approach, making him the best choice to serve Delta North in the Senate in 2027. As our elders say, a tree that has borne fruit before is trusted to bear fruit again. His record of results, legislative experience, and enduring connection to the people remain decisive.
