The Nigerian Senate has formally declared the seat Senator Monday Okpebholo vacant following his departure to Edo Government House as Governor, having succeeded Dr. Godwin Obaseki in the last off season gubernatorial election in Edo State, South-South, Nigeria.
The Senate made declaration today (Wednesday) and mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to conduct a Bye-election to fill the vacancy.
As a result the scrabble by intended aspirants for the Edo Central Senatorial seat hitherto occupied by Okpebholo since inauguration in November, last year, has been intensified.
