Following the attack on Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo by the Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra State, Rev. Father. Emmanuel Obimma aka ‘Ebube muonso’ calling for his resignation in view of his alleged inability to tackle the security situation in the State, the National Convener, Recover Nigeria Project, Comrade Osita Obi has risen to the defence of the Governor.
In this regard, Obi has issued a 2-week ultimatum to ‘Ebube muonso’ to apologize to Governor Chukwuma Soludo over his outburst on state of security in the State.
Addressing newsmen in Awka on Saturday, the Activist Obi called on the outspoken Cleric to support the governor in tacking the ugly trend instead of ventilating his anger on him (governor).
Obi has therefore threatened to storm the Adoration Ministry in protest, if the cleric fails to retract and apologise to the Governor at the expiration of the ultimatum.
Rev. Fr. Obimma had during his New year message called on the governor to tackle the security condition or resign due to alleged worsening security situation in Anambra State.
The Cleric lamented the failed attempt in preventing the kidnapping of his fellow priest, Fr. Nonso while criticizing the government’s seeming inability to tackle the rising insecurity in the State.
But Obi in his reaction pointed out that the situation has not reached the point for calling for governor’s resignation.
“If Fr. Obimma think he has all it takes to address the situation more than Soludo, then he should pull off his cassocks and enter the political arena like his colleague who is currently serving as the governor of Benue State to contest the position”, Activist Obi stated.
Continuing, he said, “To the best of my observation, no governor, since the returned of democracy in 1999, has done what Soludo administration is currently doing across the 179 communities that constitute the State within a space of two years and night months in office.
“I expected that the clergyman would have booked an appointment with the governor or called him on phone to discuss on the way forward instead of resorting to a media war.
“Governor Soludo is a good man. He has listening ear. The issue of insecurity is the responsibility of every Ndi-Anambra irrespective of political, tribe, ethic and region affiliations.
“I am giving the Man of God 14 days ultimatum to retract his outburst and tender an apology to governor Soludo or I will personally storm his Ministry”, he said.
