The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), has issued a seven-day reminder notice to residents, landlords, occupants and business owners in Asaba capital territory to clean up their environment.
A statement signed by the Director General (DG) of the agency, Hon. Patrick Ukah indicated that the seven days’ notice was sequel to the twenty-one days’ notice earlier issued to residents, landlords and business owners in the capital territory which expired on the 18th of December, 2023.
The statement reiterated the need for residents to keep their surrounding clean by desilting drainages within the immediate vicinity of their premises; removal of all illegal and makeshift structures and/or extensions on roads, walkways, and drainages.
The statement further urged residents to avoid trading or displaying articles of trade on roads, walkways or other unauthorized places within the Asaba metropolis.
While prohibiting the discharge of sewage or wastewater into public roads or drainages, the statement also frowned at urinating or defaecating in public places, stressing that property owners must provide adequate toilet and sanitary facilities in their premises.
The statement pointed out that at the end of the seven days reminder notice, the agency shall begin the inspection of all premises within the capital territory and will prosecute any defaulter.
