….as he faces 3-count charge under the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention) Act

Barely 24 hours after the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria handed down 48 hours ultimatum to the Police to show cause why detained Activist, Fejiro Oliver should not be released unconditionally, Police have, at last, disclosed why they are holding him.

Delta State Police Command revealed this in a Charge Sheet signed by the Legal Officer, Directorate of Legal Services, Delta State Police Command, Asaba, R.O. Eze Esq. It partly reads:

“That you, Oghenedoro Tega, Fejiro Oliver, m, between the months of July and August 2025, in Asaba, within the Asaba Judicial Division, did make publications on your Facebook account with the name ‘Fejiro Oliver’, cyberstalking His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori — the Governor of Delta State — stating that: the Governor travelled to Brazil without the people knowing and kept it hush-hush, the Governor awarded contracts worth billions of naira to his boys for election rigging, the Governor sent government officials to China spending millions of dollars only to inspect CNG buses instead of attracting investors, and that the Governor is a ‘sleeping governor who rigged election’ aimed at destroying the governor’s reputation and is punishable under section 24 (2)(c) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.

“That you made publications on your Facebook account with the name ‘Fejiro Oliver’, cyberstalking Senator Ede Dafinone, currently representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, calling him different names such as ‘grossly incompetent senator, sleeping senator, betraying ingrate, Dodo senator, POS senator, Scammer in NASS,’ and that Senator Ede Dafinone must be recalled from the Senate, which publication was aimed at destroying his reputation, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 24 (2)(c)(ii) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015, as Amended”.

Although the charge preferred against him surfaced weekend, it was not not clear when exactly he would be physically taken to the court to face trial.
