A retired Senior Civil Servant in Delta State, Nigeria, Dr Augustine Isikwei Ojogbo has emerged as the Chairmanship candidate for Aniocha North under the platform of Labour Party LP for the forthcoming Local government election in the State.
Dr Ojogbo’s emergence followed the withdrawal of his co-contestant, Hon Emeke Okolo, from the party primary election conducted at the weekend at the party secretariat, Issele-Uku, leading to his being declared as the Chairmanship flag bearer by the Party.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Ojogbo thanked God for making the party primary possible and also lauded his co-contestant for stepping down for him and gave assurance that he would not disappoint the Party.
He solicited the co-operation and commitment of the party faithful in order to win the local government elections and liberate Aniocha North from the shackles of under development and set it on the path of accelerated development, saying that the party would meet soon to strategize on its electioneering campaign.
