… burial date to be made public soon
Information reaching The Townhall indicates that heads are already being put together towards the burial of a political iroko tree in Delta North, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi who fell recently.
Although not certain, a close source said that wide consultations were ongoing by the family members in collaboration with the State government, Ibusa community – his ancestral home and other stakeholders regarding the burial itinerary, which would be made public once concluded.
Meanwhile, the Asagba of Asaba, Asagba Epiphany Azinge (SAN) while receiving a delegation of the Political Family of the late ‘Oracle of Delta Politics’ at his palace, recently, called for inclusiveness, warning that even his political foes should not be shut out.
Said he, as many as would want to be involved in the funeral should be allowed to play their roles.
Describing late Senator Nwaoboshi as a rare breed of politician who lived an Impactful life the monarch said he (Nwaoboshi) was able to build a family across party lines, mentored and empowered even his detractors many of whom would want to pay him their last respect.
Nwaoboshi, therefore, deserves a befitting state burial, which, he said, has been assured by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and urged members of his political family to work with the bereaved family and other interest groups to ensure seamless burial rites.
The delegation was led by Hon. Pat Mozia, who described his passing as an irreparable loss.
