Former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Norbert Chiazor has been appointed as Executive Assistant (EA) on Media by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The appointment of Comrade Chiazor was contained in a statement in Asaba by the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Dr. Kingsley Emu.
Chiazor was also a former Deputy General Manager/Head of News and Current Affairs, Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, where he retired in 2019.
In a sharp reaction to the appointment, the NUJ National Secretary, Mr Leman Shaibu expressed the union’s deep appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for the appointment.Comrade Shaibu said the choice of the ex- Delta chairman represented Governor Oborevwori’s belief in the press as a strategic partner and described Comrade Chiazor as a brilliant, thorough-bred and outstanding journalist, sure footed to bring value to the government.
While congratulating him on the top job, the scribe assured the Delta State governor of the union’s support in his commitment to good governance in the state.
The seasoned journalist is expected to bring in his vast knowledge and experience to bear in the realization of the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Oborevwori administration.
