Nimbo community in Enugu invaded again by herdsmen, scores killed

By Austin Ogwuda

Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria has come under severe bloody attack by suspected herdsmen, leaving scores dead and several others wounded.

Recall that the same Nimbo came under attack by the same herdsmen sometime in 2016, leaving in its trail several dead bodies and many wounded which attracted public outcry both within and outside the country.

The latest attack occurred late Sunday evening. According to reports, the herdsmen attacked mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo community in a bloodbath which is already trending on Social media with gory pictures which The Townhall as an in-house policy wouldn’t display here.

Names of some of those killed were also released but also withheld by The Townhall.

The voice in a trending video was heard crying, saying, the invaders took the villagers by surprise and shot sporadically at the mourners.

Tables and chairs could be seen scattered in the compound where the mourners had gathered, with lifeless villagers also seen in the pool of their blood.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe was yet to speak on the gruesome invasion of the killers.
