IT has been jubilation galore in Delta State since morning following the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed the victory of Governor Sherrif Oborevwori as the winner of the last governorship election in the State, just as key stakeholders react.

* Ngozi Okolie congratulates Sherrif Oborevwori

Member representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency in the National Assembly, under the umbrella of Labour Party LP, Rt. Hon Ngozi Lawrence Okolie in a statement personally signed by him said “in every coronation, there is a process. Today, GOD has through the Supreme Court concluded the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the Governor of Delta State. I pray that GOD will guide and guard him to do his best for Delta State.

“I urge all including those that challenged the victory to support our Governor for the betterment of our dear state. Afterall, what we all seek is the development of our dear State.

“Congratulations to our Governor, Congratulations to Delta State, Congratulations Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

*Ifeanyi Okowa, immediate past governor of Delta State, reacting on his verified Facebook account, wrote, “following today’s historic judgment by the Supreme Court that has declared Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the duly-elected leader of our great state, Delta, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, our Deputy Governor, H.E. Monday Onyeme and our esteemed party, the PDP.

“This judgement truly underscores the trust and confidence that the people of our state, the Big Heart of our nation, have placed in the leadership of Governor Oborevwori’s administration and our great party.

“As we celebrate this significance achievement, we must see this as a renewed commitment to work collaboratively for all Deltans by focusing on our common goals, pushing to manifest our shared dreams and aspirations, and working to find solutions to the problems that confront our great state and its remarkable people”.

Also, former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, said, “congratulations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his family, congratulations to all Deltans and to all well wishers across the world.

“These cases have been quite trying, but for those that have passed through this route, propaganda was a big issue. We thank God for the overall result; it is now time to settle down fully and deliver the dividends of democracy”

*Delta Speaker, Guwor

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor described the Supreme Court ruling on the Delta Governorship legal battles as reaffirmation of God’s unwavering love for the people and government of Delta State.

The Speaker in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, expressed happiness that the legal battles have finally ended with the Supreme Court judgement, but regretted the enormous resources and distractions the process has caused the State.

Said he, “God is very interested in the affairs of Delta State. He can never allow His glory to be taken away by man. This time in the history of Delta State, God has chosen His Excellency Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori to govern our dear State and He that over sees the affairs of man, shall always protect it.

“I want to again assure that as great partners in the Advancing Delta Project, the Delta State Assembly under my watch will continue to support the Governor to succeed in the onerous task of building a prosperous state.

“I enjoin every critical stakeholder, including opposition political parties, that politics is over and it’s now time for governance. Let us lend our support to the MORE agenda of the Governor who is determined to take the state to the next level of development”, he added.
