Ndokwa Vanguard Marks 20 Years of Grassroots Journalism, Community Advocacy

NDOKWA VANGUARD, one of Delta State’s foremost community newspapers, will on October 11, 2025, celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of consistent service in education, public enlightenment, and community development advocacy.

According to a press statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Good Deal Communications Limited and Publisher of Ndokwa Vanguard, Chief Alaska Ekele, the landmark event will take place in Kwale, featuring the conferment of a Distinguished Leadership Award and the launch of a Research Centre to deepen knowledge-sharing and promote community-based initiatives.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will attend as Chief Guest of Honour, while Deputy Governor Chief (Sir) Monday Onyeme is billed to serve as Special Guest of Honour. The Guest Speaker will be Chief Sidney Ufeli, a respected legal practitioner and Public Affairs Analyst.
Other distinguished personalities expected include Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads and Public Information), Mr. Charles Aniagwu; President General of Ndokwa Neku Union, Comrade Chief Amechi Asugwuni; Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego; Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. Samuel O. Asaba; and Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Prof. Emmanuel Achuenu.

The anniversary will be jointly hosted by Hon. Charles Emetulu, member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chief Goddey Obi Nzete, Executive Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Council.

Organisers say the 20th anniversary celebration will be a memorable occasion, underscoring Ndokwa Vanguard’s enduring role as a trusted grassroots voice and a beacon of responsible journalism in Delta State.
