Murder of Justice Ifeoma Okogwu: Police nab the runaway Security Guard in Anambra State with her phone

THE prime suspect – a Security Guard allegedly involved in the murder of Justice Ifeoma Okogwu (retired) who has been on the run has finally been arrested.

He was tracked down yesterday (Saturday) along with his close friend whom he invited including another person to join him in the gruesome act.

Recovered from him was the GSM handset of the woman. The arrested security guard was supposed to be on duty that very fateful night and had be on the run since the sad incident.

This was contained in a terse statement by the Delta State Police Command’s Spokesman Bright Edafe a Superintendent of Police, on Sunday morning.

It reads:

“On 6th December 2025, Operative of Homicide Section of State CID, Delta State Police command acting on intelligence has arrested one Godwin Mngumi aged 25 years, the Security Guard who allegedly murdered Justice Ifeoma Okogwu (Rtd) in Anambra State and the phone of the late RTD justice has also been recovered from him.

“He confessed that he invited his friend one Nnaji Obalum and one other suspect at large over to the house where they carried out the dastardly act together.

“Nnaji Obalum has also been arrested while the manhunt for the third suspect is ongoing.

SP EDAFE BRIGHT , PPRO DELTA STATE COMMAND”.
