IT looks like a drama episode but it is real that a lady in desperation to get married discretely sold her blood brother, a toddler and handed over the proceed of the illegal trade to the fiance to enable him foot the bill for their coming traditional wedding.
The culprit Blessing (surname withheld by The Townhall) who hails from Enugu State, South Eastern State, resides at Mubi, Adamawa State.
Reports said that nemesis however caught up with her as she was promptly arrested.
The 24 year old woman confessed to the Police that she actually sold her three year old brother.
According to her, “I used the proceeds of the crime to buy a grinding machine so I can start a business and also gave my boyfriend N200,000 to buy items required for our traditional wedding”.
Confirming the bizzare incident, Spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said the lady and her boyfriend planned the deal.
