Further investigations into the killing of a toddler by an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA allegedly through a stray bullet sometime ago in Delta State have been moved to Abuja.
Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Wale Abass told newsmen in Asaba today, Tuesday, during quarterly briefing on the activities of the command.
Asked what about the position of the case, he said “the NDLEA and the issue that happened in Okpanam, we have concluded investigations, the suspect has been taken to Abuja, for more indepth investigation probably to go beyond what our wherewithal here can achieve.
“They have taken the suspect to Abuja, we have given them the case file and I believe in no distance time, the suspect will be charged. And so far, the suspect is still in the custody of the police and investigation is still on in Abuja.
“We have concluded our own here (Delta) the preliminary, that is what is expected of us and we have transfered the case file”, the Delta State Police boss stated.
The sad incident took place on July 13th this year when the a two- year old boy, Ivan Omorhiakogbe was killed purportedly through a stray bullet while his younger sibling, Erhumosele was also wounded and hospitalized following the shooting by NDLEA operatives raiding a black spot at Okpanam, Delta State.
