JUST IN: Senator Natasha’s Supporters attacked, arrested while sensitizing constituents over fake Recall agenda disguised as Empowerment programme

By Austin Ogwuda

Supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan were attacked and arrested on Wednesday while sensitizing constituents about the ongoing recall process initiated by the APC government in Kogi State.

The supporters explained that they were on a peaceful walk to inform the people of Ihima about the recall process, which is disguised as an empowerment program, and requires constituents to bring their voter cards and sign a booklet.

According to eyewitnesses, at around 9:30 am, a Sienna vehicle carrying unknown men in police uniforms and accompanied by a local vigilante group attacked the supporters in Obeiba Ihima, shooting sporadically.

Many supporters of the lawmaker sustained injuries, and one, Abel Aliyu, was arrested and has not been heard from since.

The supporters emphasized their right to sensitize their community about the recall process, which they described as an “evil agenda” disguised as an empowerment program.

They called on the Okehi local government chairman, Monday Amoka Odu and the APC government in Kogi State to release their arrested supporters and stop the unjustifiable action.

This development comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension from the Senate, which her supporters believe is related to her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
