THE Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital has reinstated Philip Shaibu as the Deputy Governor of Edo State, declaring the impeachment as illegal.
The court in nullifying the impeachment process by the Edo State House of Assembly, which it declared as unconstitutional also ordered the Inspector General of Police to immediately restore Shuaibu’s security details.
Shaibu is also to be paid his salaries and allowances effective April this year, when he was removed from office via the impeachment.
