Fresh facts have shown that the case file involving the investigation of the death of the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, Mrs. Shimite Bello Love has been transferred to Police headquarters Abuja for continuation following the family’s petition against Delta State police command, earlier handling the case.

Although the Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer PPRO, Bright Edafe, a Superintendent of Police did not give details but responded to The Townhall’s sms message on Monday morning thus:

“Case has been transferred to Force Headquarters”.

A statement trending on the social media by one Chief (Barrister) Kimashinor Nwakalor-Imu, Head, Nwakalor Family stated that “the case involving the murder of Shimite Bello is currently under investigation by the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit following a formal petition to the IGP’s after what the family considered an untidy investigation by the Delta State Police command.

“The IGP’s Monitoring Unit has since taken over the case file from Asaba command as well as a Pharmacist who administered both oral and intravenous to Shitime 24 hours before her death”.

He further alleged that her husband is presently on the run saying “Mr Love is presently on the run from the Police. The Asaba Police command who set him free cannot locate him as all his known lines have been switched off”,Ā  he allegedly claimed.

With the take over of the case file from Asaba it is not clear whether the earlier burial plans scheduling her burial for the 27th of June at her home town Ebu, Oshimili North local government area of Delta State, Nigeria, will still hold.

Recall that Chief (Mrs) Bello was confirmed dead at about 3.30 a.m. on Easter Monday at St Luke’s Hospital Asaba where she was rushed to which triggered public concern and widespread allegations, particularly on social media.
