I-M-P-U-N-I-T-Y: Land grabbers build two residential houses right inside a School compound in Delta

By Austin Ogwuda

Two residential houses have been successfully built right inside Amai Secondary School, Amai in Ukwuani local government area of Delta with impunity by alleged land grabbers.

*Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori … must hear this!

“One of the buildings”, according to The Pond News, “is close to a classroom where students are taught”.

The Pond News Journalist on the spot today (Saturday) witnessed the abnormal site of residential buildings sitting right inside the school compound.

“Speaking to mark the 33 years homecoming of Class 1993, the National President of the Old Students Association, Engineer Festus Akpati made a passionate appeal to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Commissioner for Secondary Education to fence the school round.

“He also implored the relevant authorities to ask the land grabbers to remove their buildings from the school compound”, the report stated.

Recall that The Townhall Ng ran a similar story a month ago on how the Delta State Ministry of Technical Education ordered the immediate redeployment of the Principal of the Sapele Technical College, Sapele, for turning the school land to farming and wood milling activities.

That shocking discovery was made by a Monitoring Team going round schools to assess compliance with the resumption of the current Second Term academic activities.

Upon the discovery, the Principal of the School, Mrs. Rosemary Itawansa, was redeployed.

The letter conveying the redeployment stated: “Consequently, and in line with disciplinary procedures, the Ministry has approved the redeployment of the Principal from Sapele Technical College to the Ministry of Technical Education, Asaba, for further posting.

“The Principal is directed to hand over to the most senior teacher and resume duties at the Ministry on Monday, January 19, 2026″.
