THE Chairmanship candidate for Aniocha North Local Government Council under the umbrella of the Labour Party LP, Dr. Augustine Ojogbo says that when elected that he would utilize the Council’s fund judiciously for the development needs of the people with a view to reposition the local government towards the path of accelerated and sustainable development.
He stated that his five-point development agenda, christened AWELE, is a catalyst for overall transformation of the council area, pointing out that under the Development Programme, agriculture would be given adequate attention by setting up Demonstration Farms, train school leavers and setting up Demonstration Farms, train school leavers and mobilize wealthy people of the area to key into agricultural development.
Dr. Ojogbo stated this when he visited the Obi of Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Nduka; Obi of Idumuogo, Obi Samuel Otiegede and Obi of Ugbodu, Obi Isinyemeze, in continuation of his visits to traditional rulers in the area to seek their royal blessings towards actualisation
Said he, “I have been going round visiting the palaces of my local government area, receiving their blessings. But beyond that the level of acceptance we are getting from the field since we started is amazing. I am really enthused by the outpouring of love, acceptance and support so far”, Dr Ojogbo stated.
“I will ensure wealth creation, ethical rejuvenation, livelihood enhancement and education rebirth. Pursuant to this objective, my administration will support wealthy people with the mindset to create wealth, revive the school system by abolishing all forms of levies in the primary schools, establish libraries, ensure even distribution of teachers as well as ensure centrally coordinated vigilante groups in the area and enrollment of the elderly people in health insurance scheme”.
He appealed to the monarchs for their support and prayers.
Responding, the traditional rulers blessed him and prayed to God to guide and protect him as he embarks on campaign to actualise his aspiration.
Obi of Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Obi Nduka appreciated his development agenda and urged him to mount sustained campaign in order to educate the people of the local government on his programme.
On his part, the Chairman of the Party in the local government, Mr Onyebuchi Oshukwudo said Labour Party does not impose candidates but conduct primary elections to pick credible candidates to serve the people with integrity competence.
