Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Media Aide in soup for offering job to Ibom Air unruly passenger

By Austin Ogwuda

Strong public outcry has greeted Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Media Aide, Ossai Ovie Success for offering half a million naira job to the unruly Ibom Air’s passenger, Ms Emmanson Comfort.

While many described the offer which is accompanied with luxurious jamboree trip to Delta State as purely a Greek gift, fiery Delta based Social critic, Zik Gbemre is demanding for his outright sack, noting that such “gesture” is capable of rubbing off on the Governor and administration he was appointed to serve.

Said Gbemre, “I followed Comfort’s case like many Nigerians did. I do concede that Ibom Air shares the guilt for dehumanizing her, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that she was “unruly”, in character and temperament. Besides, her social media inclinations dug up her trial also revealed a not too complimentary social life.

“That is the character Ossai chose to invite for an all expense paid complementary trip to Delta to attend to as Special Guest of a Delta Social Media Summit, Ossai’s prime conduit for collecting his ‘stomach infrastructure’ from any Delta governor in power”.

While the move was presented as an act of compassion and opportunity, not everyone is buying it. One X user openly blasted the aide, questioning the sudden generosity toward a non-Deltan and insinuating that the viral nature of Emmanson’s clash with Ibom Air staff where she was partly stripped may have motivated the gesture.

“I’m deeply disappointed in the SSA… are all young women in Delta State employed? How many has he ever gotten a job for before now? Why the sudden desire to host Comfort in such grand style?” the critic wrote, adding that Ossai should be “disappointed in himself” over the matter.

There were several other comments carpeting Success over the gesture but due to the vulgar language, The Townhall is constrained to publish due to its editorial policy.
