Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has called on the Bishop of Heroes of Faith Ministries, Ughelli in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State, Nigeria, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi to hold his head high because the total support and endorsement he gave him (Oborevwori) during the 2023 governorship election was not misplaced.
Oborevwori stated this when he paid a surprise visit to the Church where he worshipped on Sunday morning.
The appearance of the Governor Oborevwori during the service was greeted with loud ovation by the congregation who were not expecting the governor in their midst or got any inkling about his coming.
Speaking Governor Oborevwori said, “I told our Lord Bishop that when I will come, I will come unannounced.
“People criticized you that you were a betrayal because you followed God and openly supported me.
“The evidence today is the flyover. When you are talking, you will say that the person God led me to support brought this flyover and people will respect you more because you did the right thing”.
Continuing, the governor said, “I want to assure you that we will continue to serve you according to the will of God. Continue to pray for us to succeed, especially those of us in power so that we are not distracted”.

Meanwhile, the governor has been honoured with the prestigious South-South Governor of the Year Award at the maiden edition of the Progressive Digital Media Summit and Awards, held on Saturday at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The award, which recognises exceptional performance, visionary leadership, and digital inclusion across Nigeria’s South-South region, was presented to Governor Oborevwori in acknowledgement of his transformative strides in infrastructure, human capital development and governance transparency since assuming office on May 29th 2023.
Organisers of the Summit, commended Governor Oborevwori for his commitment to the development of Delta State through the effective implementation of his M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.
Receiving the award on behalf of the governor, former Member House of Representatives and Executive Assistant to the Governor on FCT Abuja Liaison, Hon. Lovette Idisi expressed gratitude to the organisers for the honour describing it as a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s relentless pursuit of good governance and inclusive growth in Delta State.
“This award is yet another validation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s dedication to service, his commitment to improving lives, and his consistent investment in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment”, Idisi stated.
