A High Court of Justice sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria has sentenced a Gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for allegedly killing his girlfriend, a National Youth Service Corps NYSC member, Salome Adaidu
Presiding Justice Simon Aboki, who handed down the judgment found Ajayi guilty of killing and dismembering Adaidu.
Ajayi was charged with one count of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.
Recall that Ajayi had in January confessed to murdering Adaidu for allegedly cheating on him.
And while showing any atom of remorse upon his arrest said, “I didn’t plan to kill her. She is always cheating; she hides most things from me. I discovered she was cheating when I saw her phone; so, I got angry seeing her chat with other guys, and that’s why I killed her”.
