Former Delta State Governor-turned Prophet, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has finally revealed the divine encounter he had with the Almighty God regarding his successor during the twilight of his eight years in office.
Although, Okowa had on several occasions insisted that he did not make mistake in the choice of his political godson, RT Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the incumbent governor of the State.
But, Okowa at the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kwale Industrial and Economic Zone on Monday (today) gave a vivid account of how God spoke to him regarding the choice of Sheriff Oborevwori as the “right choice”.
Hear him, “Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, “We have somebody who was prepared for the job and is doing it the way it should be done. The greatest landmark is that you have continued with ongoing projects. I knew I made the right choice. God showed me twice that Sheriff was the one He wanted to be governor.
“Two years down the line, I am impressed with the way he is going. Our people should continue to pray for him because he is laying the ground for a better Delta”.
Recall that on October 21, 2025, Okowa similarly declared that the performance of his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, after two years in office has vindicated the decision to support him during the 2023 governorship election, despite widespread skepticism at the time.
Speaking during a Thank-you visit by members of the Ukodo Nation Forum led by its National Convener, Olorogun Morrison Olori said, “You have started the politics of organising for your son (Sheriff Oborevwori) early, and it’s very exciting to me. I want to thank all of you for starting this group, because it’s actually very important to us”.
The former governor, specifically praised Oborevwori for the completion of the Ughelli-Asaba Road, flyover bridges in Uvwie, Agbor and Ughelli, noting that he feels satisfied that he was succeeded by the governor.
“There are projects that cost quite a lot of money. If you’re coming from Ughelli down to Asaba, if it’s just that road alone, we thank God… It speaks volumes.
“People made all kinds of comments, as if the governor then was a nobody. But until you watch a man from the inside, you may not know who he truly is.
“Some people wanted us to go the direction of ‘this person belongs to this class,’ or ‘that one is from the upper circle.’ No. It’s about who has the passion to serve the people. Oborevwori is that person”, he stated.
