By Austin Ogwuda

Delta State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension placed on two of its members namely – Member representing Ukwani constituency Hon. Chukwudi Dafe and the Member representing Bomadi Constituency Hon. Oboro Preyo following the expiration of the 14 legislative days over alleged gross misconduct.

Ironically, Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor who announced the lifting of the suspension at Tuesday’s plenary (today) said that the lifting of their suspension on the duo was without consideration of the Report of Ad-hoc Committee set up to investigate the said “gross misconduct”.

Guwor said that the Investigative Ad-hoc Committee was yet to submit its Reports on the duo but announced that they should resume.

Member representing Ukwuani Constituency, Hon. Chukudi Dafe came under hammer, six months after Matthew Omonade was suspended.

The Motion for Dafe’s suspension was moved by the Majority Leader of the House and also Member representing Aniocha North Hon (Engr.) Emeka Nwaobi seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon. Perkins Umukoro.

Shortly after Chukwudi Dafe was suspended, the Member representing Bomadi Constituency Hon. Oboro Preyo was equally placed on suspension for 14 legislative days over alleged gross misconduct.
