*Woman’s family accuses husband of alleged poisoning, threatens to attack him
*Police say – We did not arrest the husband, he is in protective custody, let’s wait for autopsy

The Delta State Police Command’s Spokesman Bright Edafe confirmed to The Townhall this afternoon that Pastor David Favour Love, the husband of Mrs. Shimite Bello Love, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, who allegedly died in a mysterious circumstance on Easter Sunday was not arrested.

Rather, Edafe in a voice note sent to The Townhall said that “It was even the husband of the woman who called us. He (husband) said that the members of family of the woman were trying to attack him that we should come and protect him, so he is with us here (police station) in protective custody. The allegations that he poisoned her, and all that are in the realm of the social media.
Let’s wait the autopsy will reveal”, he added.

Family sources are however pointing accusing fingers on her husband.

The woman was reported to have died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Asaba with foams coming out from the mouth.

The Townhall gathered that the marriage before now was rocked with crisis resulting from domestic violence.

Shimite, who contested the Oshimili North constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly during the 2023 PDP primaries, had previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency during Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.
