”Odidigborigbo, nobody has matched your leadership prowess in Delta State as your tenure as Governor was marked with insurmountable achievements”.
These were the words of the former President General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Chief Joe Orode Omene in a goodwill message he sent to the two-time Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, aka ‘Odidigborigbo’, on his 67 birthday anniversary on Monday (today).
My message reads:
“It gives me great joy to celebrate a man I consider as the most outstanding Governor that Delta State has ever produced.
”Odidigborigbo, Nobody has matched your leadership prowess in Delta State as your tenure as Governor was marked with insurmountable achievements.
”The kind of empowerment you gave was unthinkable as in your tenure, Market women, roadside Deltans, artisans and more all benefited as opportunities were never limited to those with connections. You spread your tentacles to not only Urhobos but every ethnic Nationality in Delta State felt your impact.
“For the first time, Deltans got empowered on merit without any connections or knowing people in government. You have everyone an even playing field to prove their skills and get employed.
”You have decentralised powers to every office holder or appointee working with you to operate and this gave you results. Your all inclusiveness is still missed till this day.
”From Education, to Infrastructure, Health care, human capacity development, you touched every nooks and crannies of Delta State, no wonder wherever you go, your name is sang to the high heavens.
”We the Urhobo people are proud of your tenure, and as a former President General of Urhobo Progress Union, I can beat my chest that Urhobo has produced the best Governor in the history of Delta State.
”I join millions around the World to celebrate you, and it is my prayers that you continue to wax stronger in good health and may this day mark a new beginning of more higher grounds that you will achieve”.
