ANIOCHA SOUTH is in the news again as a former House of Assembly Member (Aniocha South) and presently the Chairman of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Asaba, Sir Austine Chikezie allegedly slapped a Youth leader during PDP Ward primaries ahead of the coming LG elections in the State.

The Youth leader allegedly slapped by Chikezie was simply identifed as Abaja.

A 3-minute 56 second video clip which went viral on Saturday showed Chikezie who wore a brown short with an ash pair of jeans trousers, shouting on top of his voice.

Recall that Aniocha South local government area has been boiling over which of the three clans that comprise the local government should produce the Chairmanship candidate on the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, compelling a female Commissioner to resign in the process.

According to an eye witness account as reported by The Story, “trouble started on Saturday 18th May, 2024, at the Ejeme residence of the former Lawmaker in Aniocha South local government area of the State.

“Chikezie, a crusader of “equity” in the local government area, ahead of the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections was captured in a viral video, assaulting the PDP stakeholder while in his (Chikezie) compound for the primary of the party to elect a Councillorship candidate for Ejeme Ward 8.

“In the video, making the rounds on the internet, Austine Chikezie, who is also the Chairman, Board of Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS), could be seen asking the PDP youth to leave his compound after slapping him.

“The assaulted PDP member and others who were miffed in the video, were prevented from retaliating.
Apparently, the party stakeholders including the one slapped were against imposition of a certain candidate on the Ward.

“Also in the viral video, Chikezie pulled off his footwear and was set for a fisticuff but later went back to wear his sandals after the Ejeme-Aniogor slap and was heard shouting, “leave my house”, as reported by The Story.
