Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme has described the late Bar. Ifeanyi Nwabuoku, fondly called ‘IMO’ as a man of impeccable character.
He made the commendation during the Night of Tributes organised by Lions International in his (IMO) honour as he begins his final journey home.
Said he, “I have known him since 2001. ‘IMO’, as we fondly called him through the professional and social circles we both belonged to, and from the very beginning, he left an indelible impression in my life and in the lives of so many others here today.
“He was a lawyer of remarkable integrity, one who handled matters not merely with legal brilliance, but with compassion, fairness, and a deep sense of humanity.
“To him, the law was not just a profession; it was a tool for service; he never allowed money or status to compromise his principles.
“Barr. Nwabuoku did the work because it was right, not because it was profitable.
“Lion Nwabuoku”, he went on, “made great impact on Asaba Phase 11 Lions Club; his great sense of humour will be greatly missed.
“What made IMO truly exceptional was his character; he had a rare ability to bring light into any room. Our meetings were never complete without him, even in tense moments, his humor, warmth, and laughter restored balance and reminded us of our shared humanity. He could make you laugh even in the most difficult circumstances”.
In his tribute, the District Governor of Lions Club, Lion Robinson Omonigho lamented that demise of Lion Ifeanyi Nwabuoku was a great loss to the District as he was called home when the club was yet to fully enjoy his wealth of knowledge.
