LG Polls: Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate, Ojogbo seeks Royal blessings, unveils 5-Point ‘AWELE’ Agenda

THE Aniocha North Chairmanship Candidate under the platform of Labour Party, (LP), Dr. Augustine Ojogbo is presently visiting Traditional rulers within the local government for consultation and royal blessings.


The Townhall in company of the entourage reports that Dr Ojogbo had so far visited the Obi of Idumuje-Unor, Obi Chukwuwike Anyasi 111; Obi of Onicha-Ugbo, Obi Victor Chukwumalieze 1; Obi of Obomkpa, Obi Amaechi and the Omu of Obomkpa, Omu Ifechukwude and still counting.

He assured the respective traditional rulers visited that he has come to receive their blessings as well as to inform them that his mission to contest for the chairmanship position is basically to change the narrative of under development facing the area Council administration.

According to him, “the poor development of the area occasioned by failures of past administrations is no longer in the interest of the people and the time has come for the Local Government to be driven on the path of accelerated development by a visionary leadership under my watch.

“My administration”, he went on, “will usher in a new era of development that will be anchored on a five-point agenda of agricultural development, wealth creation, ethical rejuvenation, livelihood enhancement and education rebirth”.

Dr Ojogbo also said he would address the insecurity in the area through centrally coordinated vigilante groups, ensure effective and efficient transportation, revive cultural festivals of the various communities, accord traditional rulers a pride of place in the governance of the area, deliver desired and deserved dividends of democracy to the people, reward excellence, abolish all forms of levies in the primary schools, encourage agricultural development by setting up demonstration farms and encourage skill acquisition for the youths.

Receiving Dr Ojogbo and his entourage in their Palaces, the Monarchs; Obi of Idumuje-Unor, Obi Chukwuwike Anyasi, Obi of Onicha-Ugbo, Obi Victor Chukwumalieze and Obi of Obomkpa, Obi Amaechi, blessed him and prayed God to guide and protect him as he embarks on campaign to actualise his aspiration.

The monarchs urged him to mount sustained campaign round the various communities in the area in order to garner support towards his victory.

In a related development, Dr Augustine Isikwei Ojogbo, a retired Delta State Chief Veterinary Consultant/Director, Veterinary Services gone for a thanksgiving service at St. Matthew Catholic Church Idumuje-Unor for successfully emerging as the Chairmanship candidate for his Party during the recent primary election.

He said his capabilities were based on formal education, academic knowledge and trainings in both in private and public sectors, pointing out that “basically the people of the Council area have in Aniocha North absence of ‘a people’s first governance”.

He stated that he joined the partisan politics following the prompting of his people to deliver the most desired and deserved dividends of democracy to the citizenry of the council area.

…. Unveils ‘AWELE’ 5-Point Agenda

Pursuant to his electioneery campaign and victory at the poll, Dr. Ojogbo has unveiled a five-point agenda christened, ‘AWELE’.
‘A’ stands for agricultural revival which means return to the farm that is secured and easily accessible through opening and maintenance of rural roads, motivated agric extension staff, establishment of livestock/poultry farm demonstration centre to serve as skill acquisition centre for farm assistants.

He added that ‘W’ is for wealth creation for the local government, ‘E’ for education rebirth, ‘L’ for livelihood enhancement while ‘E’ is for ethical rejuvenation and creation of valued-based society.

He solicited for the support, prayers and votes from the people to enable him emerge victorious at the poll, come July 13, 2024, for exceptional transformation and accelerated development in Aniocha North Local Government.
