AN Onitsha based female Lawyer who hails from Nkpor in Anambra State, Nigeria whose name was given as Barrister Adachukwu Okafor is currently on the run following the the reported story of her alleged involvement in dehumanising of a housemaid by burning her private part and buttocks with hot iron.
Ironically, the lawyer was said to have boasted that she was untouchable being a lawyer.
But information reaching The Townhall on Friday indicated that she has taken to her heels to avoid possible arrest since the story went viral.
Recall that the Anambra State Government rescued an 11-year-old girl housemaid named, Happiness Nwafor, from her after she (lawyer) allegedly brutalized her in Onitsha, Anambra State, vowing that nothing would happen as she has the connection.
Narrating her ordeal, the victim, a minor, 11- year -old, Miss Happiness alleged that she was beaten by her madam, one Adachukwu Chukere Okafor for merely touching her daughter’s body.
Happiness alleged that her madam, Ada used a broken bottle, iron, knife and pistol on her in just two weeks of her stay.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect allegedly burnt the little girl’s clothes and dropped her off stark naked with her relative known as Ifeoma Muoghalu.
While speaking at the hospital where she was first rushed to in Ogidi, the relative, Ifeoma Muoghalu claimed that the suspect boasted that nothing will happen because she’s a lawyer and knows how to work her way out.Ifeoma equally noted that since the incident, the suspect has not been taking her calls.
She also confirmed that the minor was handed over to her Madam on the 5th of January this year only to be disfigured within the short period of her stay.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at a undisclosed hospital in Awka.
The suspect, who hails from Nkpor is said to be married to an Awka man, according to information.
