COME April 17th, 2024, all roads will be leading to the prestigious Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria for anniversary lecture organised by Advocate Newspaper.

As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Advocate Newspaper, under the auspices of the Advocate Publication Lecture Series Board of Council (ALSBC), chaired by Mr. Abraham Ogbodo, former Editor of Guardian has announced the launch of a Public Lecture Series.

The series aims to stimulate intellectual discourse and constructive dialogue on pressing national issues, with a focus on youth empowerment and leadership evolution in Nigeria.

The ALSBC, comprising seasoned journalists and media professionals such as Mr. Yafugborhi Egufe (Vanguard Newspaper), Mr. Onojeghen Okpare Theophilus (CEO, Niger Delta Today Online), Akpobaro Umukoro Esq. (Former Station Manager, AIT), Hon. Justice Iyasere (Independent Newspaper), Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli (CEO of Bell Media Consult Ltd), Mr. Fredrick Umuerure (Crown FM Warri/Asaba), and Mr. Shedrack Onitsha (CEO of Advocate Publication Ltd), serves as the organizing body for the lecture series.

In a statement issued by the ALSBC’s Secretary-General, Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, the board expressed its delight in announcing the inaugural lecture series, themed, “Youth Empowerment and Leadership Evolution: Rethinking Nigeria’s Leadership Recruitment Process”.

The lecture series is designed to feature distinguished speakers, including scholars, policymakers, youth leaders, and civil society representatives. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, the event aims to foster critical discussions and innovative solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria’s youth and the leadership recruitment process.

Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, Secretary-General of the ALSBC, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are honored to host this inaugural lecture series as part of Advocate Newspaper’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. By bringing together thought leaders and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, we aim to catalyze positive change and drive progress towards a more inclusive and empowered society”.

The Advocate Publication’s Inaugural Lecture Series promises to be a unique event, bringing together stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond to explore strategies for empowering the youth and shaping the future of leadership in the country.

The event invites members of the media, government officials, academics, youth advocates, and the general public to join in this important conversation.
