THE Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Chief Patrick Ukah has warned that henceforth, anybody found removing plate numbers of cars parked along the roads in Asaba on the ground that the owner contravened the ‘no parking order ‘ will be severely dealt with.
Ukah gave the order following complaints that some persons impersonating staff of the Agency have infiltrated under the guise of enforcement of the order thereby using the opportunity to collect bribe as a condition before returning the seized plate numbers.
In a bid to stop the trend, Chief Ukah reaffirmed his earlier order stopping the act by the Task Force, or any person or group of persons, warning sternly that those involved would be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.
The Director General emphasized that the stoppage order stems from the fact that the Agency was currently mapping out areas to be designated as car parks and specific areas where vehicles could be parked along roads within the territory.
He did not rule out the possibility of people impersonating members of the Agency’s Taskforce to perpetrate the ignoble and unauthorized act and called on motorists in the Capital Territory to be wary of those involved in the ignoble act as they have no backing of the management of the Agency.
