Court jails 2 persons 10 years for illegal possession of Firearms

A Kwale High Court in Delta State, Nigeria, presided over by Justice O. F Enenmo has convicted and sentenced two men to jail for ten years for illegally possessing a cut to size single barrel gun

Jailed were Joshua Anamali, 25 years and Nelson Adoh, 30 years.

According to Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs Catherine O. Oboreruomo both of them were arrested by Police men who were on their normal routine stop and search on 27th day of January 2021 at Ndemili in Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State where the exhibit was recovered from them.

Prosecution called two witnesses who testified in the case against the Defendants, who in turn, defended themselves during the trial.

Handing down the judgment, the Judge stated that having carefully examined the case preferred against the Defendants found them guilty as charged and consequently convicted and sentenced them for the offence of illegal possession of firearms.

Speaking with Journalists shortly after the judgment, the Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs Oboreruomo called on people especially the youths to shun crime as crime brings condemnation and total destruction in life.
