A proud and illustrious Anioma indigene and a promoter of its culture and traditions, Elder Gideon Nwaomu, owner of the famous Giddy’s Place in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, is dead.
Details of his demise were still sketchy as at the time of this report but The Townhall can authoritatively confirm that he has passed.
At Giddy’s, local delicacies were served including fresh palm wine. He was a Pan-African to the core.
Giddy’s Place was peculiar, an entertainment and recreation centre located by Inter Bau Roundabout and was the delight of fun seekers and lovers of African dishes to hang out.
Unfortunately at a time, he had a running legal battle with the State government under Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration over the rightful ownership of the land, which invariably made him to relocate to Nnebisi Road, still in Asaba opposite Usonia’s House at the heat of the battle.
