The Townhall can authoritatively confirm too, that Police working in collaboration with sister secret services have spread their dragnet with a view to track the abductors down.

A very competent source from the Police confided in The Townhall concerning the arrest of the owner of the vehicle but refused to disclose further strategies deployed and the level of investigations so far.

Recall that the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Bright Edafe a Superintendent of Police SP had maintained sealed lips after his earlier terse statement that “we are on their trail” till moment.

But a dependable source hinted our Reporter today (Sunday) that “the owner of the vehicle used for the operation which was finally burnt at Otuogwu bank of the River Niger in Asaba before ferrying her across to unknown destination has been traced and in custody”.

The source refused further comments saying that giving out much information might jeopardise ongoing investigation if published in the press.

It was not ascertained if the owner of the vehicle arrested whose ownership of the vehicle was traced to, was actually part of the gang or the vehicle was snatched from him for the operation or that the vehicle had been sold to another party, will be determined in days ahead.
