Moved by the determination to achieve lasting industrial harmony, Delta State government has inaugurated a Civil Service Unit attached to the office of the State Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice.
The Unit is charged with the task of handling all cases before the National Industrial Court involving the Delta State Government and its Agencies, speedily, in a move aimed at strengthening the State’s capacity in labour and industrial relations litigation.
Inaugurating the Unit, on Thursday, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, said the initiative “is aimed at strengthening the state’s legal capacity in managing labour and industrial relations disputes, particularly employer, employee matters, trade union, and other labour-related litigations involving the State and its Agencies”.

He urged members of the Unit to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and commitment in the discharge of their duties, stressing that they must be well-grounded in National Industrial Court rules and guided strictly by the provisions and limits of the law.
Responding, the Head of the Civil Service Unit, Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie, expressed gratitude to the Attorney-General for the confidence reposed in the team and assured that the unit would carry out its mandate efficiently and in the best interest of the State.
The Unit comprises:- Oghenemine Stephen Onoriose, Esq.; Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie, Deputy Director; Ugochukwu Paul Okolotu, Esq.; Funkekeme Junior Solomon Esq and Oghenechavwuko Agbatutu.
