Help, my children are out of school due to non payment of my salary, Delta Customary Court Judge cries out

By Austin Ogwuda

Barrister Patrick Ifeanyi Nwachuku, an Area Customary Court Chairman in Burutu, Delta State,  Nigeria  has cried out over the inability of his children to continue schooling.

He tied it to alleged non payment of his salary for nearly two years.

In an appeal forwarded to one of the loops this Reporter belongs to, Barrister Patrick Ifeanyi Nwachuku said that he was reinstated for nearly two years running but due to bureaucratic bottleneck, he was yet to have his name back on the Delta State payroll.

Although he he was silent on what infraction he actually committed that led to the purported suspension but appealed to the media to help draw the governor’s attention to his plight.

The post reads:

“Good morning admin, sirs, I PATRICK IFEANYI NWACHUKU, ESQ., I am an Area Court Chairman presiding in Burutu.

“I have been reinstated since December, 2023, till date I never received a month salary. My file has been in the Governor’s office since the 6th day of August, 2025 for the second time and later returned back to the new Head of Service (HoS) for reconsideration, which the HOS has done her part and file returned to the Governor’s office on the 6th day of August, 2025.

“Sirs, help me to plead with our Governor to treat my file as a matter of urgency as my children are out of school due none payment school fees and sustaining my household is pretty difficult for my household.

“My file No is HOS. 78/11 REINSTATEMENT OF NAME (NWACHUKU PATRICK IFEANYI) on Delta State Civil Service pay roll.

“Every person should help me plead with our Governor to save me and my family from this unbearable condition.

“Thanks for your prompt intervention.

Best regards,

P. I. Nwachuku, Esq”, he added.

Efforts to get comments from any of the Governor’s Media Aides were not successful as at the time of this report and would accordingly be reflected as soon as The Townhall gets the government side of the story too.
