The six months suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central has ran its full course as it ended September 6, 2025.
However, the hope of the audacious Senator to resume has been dashed.
Recall that she had on two different occasions attempted to resume before the end of the suspension time-line, citing Court Judgment but was barred by the authorities of the Senate.
She had formally notified the Senate about the expiration of her suspension, indicating her desire to return.
But whilst she was basking in the euphoria to resume as soon as as Senate reconvenes from a long recess, a new twist has been introduced.
Clerk to the National Assembly in response to her letter, communicated that her suspension which took effect on March 6, 2025 is still a pending issue in court and by that reason, she cannot resume.
Acting Clerk to the National Assembly Yahaya Danzaria dropped the bombshell in a letter hereby attached.
