….Pleads for caution
THE Grand Patron of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), High Chief Iduh Amadhe has called on the people of Isoko nation to trust the governor in his affirmation that he would ensure equitable distribution of projects across all parts of the State.
Reacting over concerns trailing the ‘controversial’ exclusion of Isoko nation from the N230 billion worth of projects recently approved by the State Executive Council (EXCO), Chief Amadhe told newsmen at Oleh on Friday that “There is no doubt that Governor Oborevwori’s administration means well for the Isoko people.
“The M-O-R-E Agenda cannot be implemented to its logical conclusion without the Isoko nation receiving its fair share”.
He explained that the recent approval was not an annual budget but a single EXCO decision, pointing out that many more such meetings would be held during the Governor’s tenure.
“If Isoko was not accommodated in this round”, he went on, “it can be in the next”.
He therefore appealed to aggrieved persons, including those who have gone to court to sheath their swords and allow the cultural and political leadership to resolve issues through dialogue and lobbying.
“We must never put the cart before the horse. Where we are going is far better than where we are coming from.
“There are clear signs that Governor Oborevwori has not neglected the Isoko people in his first two years in office.
“As an in-law to the Isoko Nation, the Governor will never work against the land of origin of the First Lady, his wife and our daughter”, he emphasized.
