Hundreds of motorists and commuters are presently stranded along Asaba–Kwale-Ughelli road as protesting youths barricaded it in protest against lack of electricity in Ndokwa land for more than two decades.

Tagged ‘Light Up Ndokwa’, the protesters this Monday morning marched out, demanding that the Okpai Power Plant Step-Down facility should supply light to Ndokwa communities which had remained in darkness unjustly.

Reports said that the placard-carrying protesters with inscriptions “Light Up Ndokwa Nation” ; “No Light, No Peace”; “We are tired of darkness” were however peaceful while military personnel and police officers were seen positioned on standby.
