THE embattled Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom, Joseph Isaiah Isike Edekere 1, who was dethroned few days ago has been summoned by the Delta State Governor to report to Government House Asaba unfailingly on Wednesday next week.
This was contained in a letter referenced ‘DGO/620/12: titled, Invitation To A Meeting With His Excellency, The Deputy Governor’, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Anthony. C. Nwokolobia, dated December 11, 2024, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December, 18, 2024 at the Conference Room, Office of the Deputy Governor, Asaba at 10 am.
It went further stated, “I wish to refer you to the above subject and to invite you and your Lawyer to a meeting with His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, on the issue bothering on the petition by Messrs Ikhide Ehigbelua & Co which was in respect of the fragile peace situation and complaint of the activities of Odio-logbo of Olomoro community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta”.
Recall that few days ago, the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Friday Ovoke Warri sent him a letter announcing the dethronment titled “Withdrawal Of Representation As The Odio-logbo Of Olomoro Kingdom” which he LG boss personally signed.
The letter marked ‘Our Ref: C.16/28/Vol.111/59’ read in parts:
“I wish to refer to the above subject and to inform you as your withdrawal representing His Royal Majesty Isaiah Isike Edekere 1, the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom today 10th December, 2024.
“This withdrawal is necessitated by your actions of lack of respect for government, instituting confusion/crisis in Olomoro community. High-handedness in leadership without due recourse to the effects on the people of Olomoro Kingdom amidst others.
“You are by this withdrawal requested not to parade yourself as the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom forthwith anywhere and as well as stoppage from attending the Traditional Rulers Council meetings in the local government area and the State state. This notice is strictly correct your compliance as any further reference to you as HRM the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom will be met with dire consequences”, the letter warned.
Credible information reaching The Townhall NG hinted that Olomoro community has been engrossed in leadership crisis resulting to different factions involving the sacked Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom: the newly elected President-General of the community, Lucky Ewhe Ejoor, Member representing Isoko South Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly, Hon Ferguson Onwo and other top leaders of the community.
