Several comments are trailing the comment made by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State and also the Campaign Spokesperson for Delta PDP in 2023 elections, Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe to the effect that the defection of Chief James Ibori’s daughter to APC was a ploy to secure a second term ticket in 2027, contrary to the agreement reached with her father that she would be going for one term.
Dr. Oghenesivbe, presently the Director General, Orientation and Communications Bureau had said that “Prior to 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections, Chief James Ibori invited leaders of Ethiope Federal Constituency to his country home in Oghara where he assured leaders of PDP that his daughter, Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu should be allowed one tenure to complete the two tenure slots of Ethiope West LGA, so that Ethiope East can take her turn in 2027 under the irrevocable internal power rotation agreement in Delta PDP”.

But reacting one of the Social Media users said, “Fred, you of all people know that politics is a game, you don’t take anything to the bank when it comes to agreement in politics. Maybe Ibori was smarter than you guys. Prepare for the next election, who knows, maybe you guys can pull through by making sure Ibori’s daughter never returns. Good luck”.
Another user, Sam said, “Do the people matter to these politicians? So their concern is to share tenures not minding if the person is doing well or not?”, he asked

On his part, the former Deputy Senate President (DSP), Senator Ovie Omo Agege in a statement obtained from Vanguard said, “I am thrilled to welcome Hon.
