Emergence of 2 Chairmen in Delta APC: Sobotie cuts short vacation, resumes office as State Chairman

By Austin Ogwuda

Drama seems to be playing out within the All Progressives Congress APC divided house in Delta State as the State Chairman of the Party, Elder Omeni Sobotie said to be on ‘medical vacation’ announced that he has resumed office, amidst confusion over the emergence of two State Chairmen.

While Chief Paulinus Akpeki from Delta Central and Barr Francis Obigbor from Delta North were each laying claim to have stepped into his (Sobotie) shoes, Sobotie in a terse message this afternoon ‘sacked’ both of them, saying that he has resumed with immediate effect.

The letter dated 2nd December 2024, addressed to the State Working Committee SWC (Attention: Chief Paulinus Akpeki) reads:

“This is to inform you that having gone through a successful surgery, I have resumed my duties as State Chairman of APC effective today the 2nd December 2024.

“I thank you for all for your support and prayer”.

Signed: Elder Omeni Sobotie, State Chairman, All Progressives Congress APC, Delta State
