A political big wig in Delta State, Chief Paulicap Okpara slumped during his mother’s 93rd birthday thanksgiving at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Eku, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State, on Sunday.
He was reported to have died few hours later.
Our Reporter gathered that while the service was on, he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital but said to have died hours later.
He was a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and the only son of the celebrant, his mother, Chief Cathryn Okpara.
It was also gathered that the reception that was supposed to hold at his residence after the service in the community understandably couldn’t hold again.
But sadly, following the cold hand of death that snatched him, the whole community has turned into deep mourning instead of the merriment lined up for the reception of the mother’s birthday.
One of the mourners, Edevbie Emmanuel wrote thus said: “Paulicarp is a political leader and upright person who stands for the truth at Eku Traditional Council. He rather walks away rather than intimidate anyone”.
